Photo gilding is a multi-step endeavor, but the basic process involves printing an image on translucent vellum and then applying gold, white gold or copper to the back of that print.

The result is a handcrafted and original image that seems illuminated and as though they could be from another, earlier time period with a timeless quality to them.
