ABOUT THE BOOK: Artist's Statement
The Shape of Beauty is a celebration of the strong feminine influence that has surrounded me my entire life, and is a remembrance to honor my mother, Cindy, who moved through life with grace, and who loved her flowers so much.
Some of my favorite and earliest childhood memories are of walking side by side with my mother who introduced me to, and educated me on, the beauty of the nature that abound in our own little wooded gardens.
So, it is only natural that I look to my environment for inspiration, for those wild places that have shaped so much within me, and to represent what my eyes see and my heart feels when I view the world that surrounds me.
Photography is my language, my form of communicating emotions, from grief and anguish to the growth of healing and renewal.
I hope to bring pleasure and thoughtfulness to the viewer.

BOOK REVIEW:
As one of a select few people to be granted a glimpse of this unique collection of images prior to its compilation and publication, I was honored when asked by photographic artist, Serena Charlebois, to give my impressions.
Having for decades been a keen admirer of Serena’s distinctive style of photographic portrait, still life, and landscape portrayals; I was, nevertheless, not entirely prepared for the level of emotion evoked by the images presented in this collection.
I was particularly struck by the delicate manner and sensitivity with which Serena has treated the subject matter.
Perhaps representing the pinnacle of her work to date, this photographic collection that juxtaposes the female form with thoughtfully selected florals and plant life, reflects the artist’s truth and her perception of the loveliness, grace, and femininity to be found in natural botanical materials and the female figure alike.
